In the heart of the town rise the Scaliger castle, reachable by walking through the suggestive alleys, and from which you will have a breathtaking view of the lake, the Monte Baldo and also the entire town.
The beauty of Malcesine has always attracted important personalities as Gustav Klimt, who painted the colored houses and the imposing castle of Malcesine, as well as the village of Cassone; and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (to whom is dedicated a permanent exhibition in the castle) who was so impressed by the beauty of the castle and of the olives grows to write about it in his famous book “Italian Journey”.
Malcesine is not just rich in history but it is also a corner of Paradise for the sport lovers. The union between lake and mountain gives the possibility to practice a lot of different sport among which SUP, sailing, windsurf and kitesurf thanks to the quite constant presence of the wind in this part of the lake, paragliding, mountain bike, downhill and nordic walking, thanks to the presence of the Monte Baldo, tennis, football and volleyball thank to the structures near the beaches, and a lot of others.

A particular recommended path is the one which leads to Val di Monte, where you can have a stunning view of Malcesine and the lake, and where you can find the “Madonna dell’Accoglienza” statue, which protects the town from above and welcomes all the visitors with open arms.
